I'm not a musician, but I wear my contacts all the time, because I actually see better through them. My doctor said that even the minor distance between the glasses lens and the contact lens had corrected the issue my eyes had focusing together. Now when I go back to glasses, they are extremely disorienting, partially because I had to wear bifocals and am no longer in the habit of moving my eyes to switch between distances. Obviously this isn't the case for all musicians (and probably not the majority of them, really) but there are reasons outside of image that people might wear contacts rather than glasses.
