I'm a huge Mad Men fan, and I've seen every episode, but I go on tumblr and people can pinpoint what season it is just by clothing or a quote. I do my best to participate and be active in fandom, but I feel like a bad fan for not being able to rattle off all the facts and figures.

Not secret: This secret is going to give me away faster than you can say "sexism in the sixties".
Bonus secret: I started rewatching the series this morning.

I tell myself the reason why I haven't read The Lord Of The Rings is because of Tolkien's long-winded writing style, but that doesn't fully explain why I've never attempted to watch the movies. I also tell myself that I'd try to at least watch the movies or read The Hobbit one day, because I'm still curious.

But I think another reason I'm not eager is because I find certain fans I know in real life to be pretty obnoxious and elitist. I can sort of ignore those types when I just read about them, but encountering them personally leaves a worse taste in my mouth.

I saw a few cheap Doctor Who DVDs (I think it was mostly New Doctor Who) at a thrift shop when I was dropping off some things, but chickened out of buying them because as much as I like that Who exists, I consider it my guilty pleasure.

I HATED PACIFIC RIM. But I'd watch a sequel focused on these three. Why? Because Hannibal Chau is a well-dressed badass. Because Newton Geiszler is my homeboy. Because Herc Hansen is a HOT FUCKING GINGER AUSSIE DADDY.

Bonus secret: I only like Herc because he's hot. The other two are much more interesting overall.

I think I'll write fic for them. Alternate Universe with new names. It'll be way better than the stinking pile of kaiju shit that birthed them.

Kaiju = Japanese science fiction films depicting giant monsters. Think Godzilla.

I can't read fanfiction in my native language. I'm so used to English that when I try I cringe and quickly nope out of there.
Bonus secret: My wide English vocabulary everyone was so impressed about in school? Yeah, that's from reading fanfiction.

Words cannot express how much I love this scene and this line. Because of the courage and inspiration it has given me, I finally started working toward the career I've wanted since I was in high school. And it's going really well.

Secret because what the hell, it's TRANSFORMERS. It's Michael Bay. That shouldn't be inspirational. And yet.

It's no secret that I'm a huge horror fan, or that I used to be a gore-hound. But after I had to walk out of this movie after only twenty minutes, I realized a disturbing fact: I've been completely re-sensitized. This might sound fine, but it's not to me. How am I supposed to watch any horror movie without worrying about being disgusted?

I always thought that hating a pairing was silly, and only happened because the fan was too immature to bear threats to their One True Pairing. Otherwise it's just a story, right?

Then I realized this pairing exists. It makes my skin crawl just to think about it. I'm actually kind of bothered by how deeply the ship bothers me.
