Flower crowns and fandom

I see fanart with characters wearing them, or shoops of actors wearing them, and just people wearing them all the time in fandom. Is it some fad, and where did it come from? Is it a tumblr thing? I want to know!

I think it's a very cute trend right now even I'm probably a year late to the flower party.

I have been wondering what the fuck this was about for weeks. My friends keep tweeting shoops of all sorts of tsun characters with these ridiculous flower crowns on their heads and it just sort of makes me want to slap shit. I'm okay with it in fanart and stuff, but the shoops...no. Just...no. Stop it. Uhg.
