Take the job that makes you happy, nobody arrived at their deathbed and thought "I should have spent more time at my tedious job". You can't buy back happiness.

They don't - but I'm pretty sure plenty think 'I wish I'd payed off those debts.'

You can't buy much of anything if you don't have the money.

Or they arrive at their deathbed and think "sure wish I'd had a stable job so my partner and I could have relaxed and had fun every now and then, retired at a decent age. Instead all we had was bills and stress as my partner tried to support both of us"

I hate the adage "you can't buy happiness" because you sure as fuck can. You can buy peace of mind, a roof over your head, good food, comfortable clothes, exciting vacations... I can tell you this much: as a person in the process of losing their home and having nowhere else to go, money is basically THE thing that would give me happiness.

Yep. Money gives you far more freedom than not having money. It means more options for any problems that you have, and less worry about tiny problems being the thing that blows up your finances irreparably.

Without money, hearing the strange rattle your car makes when you turn corners goes from "Uh oh, I hope that's nothing serious" to "Shit shit shit I can't afford major repairs or a new car!" That twinge in your back molar goes from, "Crap, another cavity?" to "Fucking hell I can't afford to go to a dentist even if I end up losing this tooth".

Loving your job is a wonderful thing, but so is not having to stress out every minute of the day wondering if you'll be able to make rent AND afford food.
