If you guys had a bad falling out, then I might be a little bit worried.

But if you have a completely different handle than what you used to use and you guys didn't break off the friendship at each other's throats, then I wouldn't be too concerned. I guess it just depends if the friendship dissolved amicably or not.

Either way, try not to let her participation in fandom deter you from yours. I guess just try to get involved in circles that she's not in.
