Re: Any creepy admirers, FS?

Back in high school, one kid developed a crush on me based solely on us both being nerds and my being willing to talk to him about his particular nerdy obsessions (mostly '80s cartoons, IIRC). He then proceeded to follow me around like a puppy dog for three weeks. I never did much about it, because (a) I was actively pursuing someone else, which I figured was an obvious hint, and (b) this kid pinged my embryonic gaydar so hard I was pretty sure he'd stop once he realized I really was a chick. As it happened, someone in the other kid's social circles pranked him, making him think I was waiting for him in the computer labs and then stood him up; by the time I head about it the next day, the poor kid had talked himself out of his crush. (He didn't come out of the closet until five years later.)

There's also a clerk at the local guitar store who leers at me, calls me "baby," and randomly discounts things when I shop there. He doesn't actually follow me around the store, but he stares at me the entire time I'm in there; he does this to a couple of other ladies in our social circle, too, but not all of us. I stopped going except when I'll be there with several male companions and the guy who does the ordering for the store (who's a friend of a friend) will be there, too.
