Case, can I ask why this made the failbar? (I ask politely, with much bowing, &c.) It is a secret because, were I to post "Icky slash everywhere I tuuuuuuurn!" I would be flamed to a solid crisp, LOL.

It may be due to the wording of the secret itself. Instead of saying what you did, "I enjoy TBC but the fandom disheartens me. Why? I like and support the only canon couple whereas everyone else seems squicked by the het couple," may have avoided the fail bar.

Okay that's rather verbose and probably not even what you intended but I hope you understand what I was trying to say. :/

Probably because it's not worded as a secret. It's saying something about the fandom, but OP isn't "confessing" anything.

Well - "why am I not surprised?" is a rhetorical question. And just saying "TBC hates this couple" is just kind of an observation, like "Supernatural fandom ships Castiel with people." What your actual opinion or secret is, isn't very clear.

I can handle the music, generally. It's the none stop talking about the bandmates that drives me mad.

I had one friend who was obsessed with McFly and Busted. All I ever did was hear about them all the time. I knew their fav movies, foods, pissing habits, etc. It drove me insane. I fucking hated them with a passion for a while. (I didn't know I still had so much rage about it, haha.)

A friend now is obsessed with MCR and all the other bands related to them. I felt bad, but I was happy when MCR broke-up, so I didn't have to hear about them anymore.

That sounds so... not fun. I have friends with other interests but we're all aware who cares about what so, yeah, they'll gush from time to time but not enough for it to become annoying.

It's not your fault! I guess I'm just used to it. As a young lass I didn't tell people to piss off/stop yammering enough.

However, recently, I stood up for myself and told my MCR friend I would not listen to her talk about Hockey RPS. I was proud of myself.

Things are well with my friends now. There were just some bumps at first. Thankfully, me and my MCR friend have a lot of other things to talk about. And Busted friend is long gone.
