Excellent gif.

I don't think there needs to be wank in response to this secret. This person was sadder than they expected to be, for reasons X, Y, and Z. Their happy show is no longer happy for them.

...but I would not be surprised to see wank.

No, I know that, but I just had an inkling that there would be wank despite that. Any excuse I have to use this gif, I use. ;)

I feel like people are just watching this thread. Just waiting.

Like Richard Pryor in that one sketch where he's the President and he's waiting for the guy to ask him a question about his mother

I must be an asshole, because I'm really curious about how they'll approach it on-show. They have to address it, they already blew all their chances to write Finn out (the Army, breaking up with Rachel, moving off to college). He's going to have to either be put on a bus or killed off. They'd never re-cast him.

(Anonymous) 2013-07-26 11:18 pm (UTC)(link)
It's been confirmed that he'll be killed off. Third episode I believe.

Wow. That seems a little...harsh?

THERE IS A SPOILER IN THE FIRST REPLY TO ANON

(Anonymous) 2013-07-26 11:25 pm (UTC)(link)
They've given the method in which he's being written out but not details. And I'm curious, too. I mean, I definitely feel bad for everybody in real life and just for the general loss of life, but Finn is the only way I "knew" Cory Monteith, so how that's handled I think will resonate in a bigger way. In fact, I think some of the best episodes of TV have been ones where a character had to be written out because of a death (obvs I'd prefer John Spencer, John Ritter and PHil Hartman were still alive, but those WERE really good episodes).

(Also, I haven't watched for real in forever. How did they handle the military thing? Because it sounds like he was around a lot for a dude in the military.)

Considering they showed him at college drinking like a fish, they're probably gonna have him be killed in a car crash or getting alcohol poisoning.

if they address the issue on the show?

I'd skip the upcoming episode(s) if I were you

title or description

[Picture is a black and white picture of the actor Corey Monteith from the TV show "Glee". He has pale skin and wavy short dark hair. He is wearing dark sunglasses, a v-neck dark shirt and a dark jacket. He is smiling.]

His death really hit me more than I'd have expected. I watch Glee as a sort of guilty pleasure. I know it has problems but the songs make me happy. I never really liked Finn as a character. And I hate the Finchel ship.

But now all I can think about is that they won't get their happy ending in real life. And I'm thinking how horrible it will be for Lea if they address the issue in the show and she'll have to relive losing her boyfriend again. I'm not even sure I'll be able to watch my "happy show" without those thoughts again.

I get this secret.

There are so many problems with Glee, but I still like it. Idkw. I also dislike Finn and Finchel, but I kinda wish that in the show, Finn and Rachel runaway together to pursue their dreams and live happily ever after.

Of course, I know that's not going to happen as Ryan Murphy is killing Finn off in ep 3.

The show won't be the same :(

Nothing annoys me more than leading co-stars dating. It's so damn annoying and predictable.

Lea had it coming.

She really didn't. That's a horrible thing to say. I know you're trolling, but someone died. Show some respect, anon.

I don't give a shit about celebrities, celebrity deaths, and I roll my eyes at the mourning that goes on around them when they do die.

But you sir, are a fucking idiot. Shut up.

(Anonymous) 2013-07-26 11:48 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't even watch the show, I'd never even heard of this guy before his death, and yet I felt terrible about it, too. Especially reading about his relationship with Lea Michele, who I also didn't know anything about before this happened. I feel terrible for her.

(Anonymous) 2013-07-27 12:40 am (UTC)(link)
honestly, when i found about his death it hit me hard. I don't watch glee and I don't really pay attention to any of the cast. For a week I had been walking by magazines with his face on the cover and ignoring them b/c oh just another glee cast member on a magazine. Then I read the headline and it hit me so hard and I wanted to cry.

kind of not really about the secret but i felt the need to type out my thoughts.

The people who watch Glee are really pretty young, and Cory Monteith is the first young celebrity they might have known who died. The only other one I can really remember in recent memory is Richard Griffifths, and I don't mean to sound cruel, but he was old, so it wasn't so shocking. But Cory is young, so it makes the Glee generations sort of look at their own mortality.
