God can be anything you want them to be OP, and as long as the way you see God makes you feel better about your life nobody should make you feel bad about it. I once read that smaller children start with believing that God is an old man aka. a tangible person before moving to more abstract version of this which I guess is what you did since you mentioning liking the fairness of the character. (I got stuck in the "God = man with white beard" phase which I partly blame the Simpsons for before I became an atheist. I wonder if I would have envolved on this perception later on)
