ARRGH. I really wanted to see it on the big screen.

:)
I might be able to see it in two-hours-away town if we go there for school-clothes shopping, but who knows.
Grrr.

*sigh*
Used to be, movies stuck around for longer than two damn weeks.
Re: GRRRRRRR!!!
(Anonymous) 2013-07-27 09:35 pm (UTC)(link)This is a movie designed to make people buy home cinema equipment and convert a room into their own "Big Screen" with a wall set aside to have a projector put on. Possibly even to make people build a two storey structure for it too.
One thing, despite it being *big* in all sense of the word, it doesn't need to be seen in 3D. It is so well crafted (and the word *craft* exactly describes it) that the 3D is almost incidental to it.
Re: GRRRRRRR!!!
Oh, i don't do 3d, it makes me motion sick. A lot of things make me motion sick, meh.
Re: GRRRRRRR!!!
(Anonymous) 2013-07-27 09:42 pm (UTC)(link)It's such a classic movie in some ways - it just doesn't have any truck with things like 3d or modern innovations, except for being able to use CGI to make things look good. Even in terms of storytelling, it's delightfully old-school.
do see it on a big screen if you get a chance! oh man, now i want to go watch it again...

(Anonymous) 2013-07-27 10:26 pm (UTC)(link)If you are hitting the road, try and find a theater with D-Box, because while 3D might not be needed the D-Box takes it to a whole new level.

I don't actually have anybody near by that cares about that movie. And the people nearby that i'd see a movie with wouldn't drive two hours to see one.
So - tl;dr - nope.
