I wouldn't blame Nick or Disney specifically, but I do kind of worry about kids who grow up in the entertainment industry, there is definitely a dark side to it and I think unless you have guardians who are very educated about the whole thing and are really looking out for you, it can very easily lead a kid down a bad path.

Now this is not to say that the entertainment industry is responsible for mental illness, but a bad environment never helps that sort of thing and things like drug use and trauma can make it much... much... worse.

Have any of the other Nick stars gone crazy, though? Kennen is on SNL, Kel has a career in music, some of the other kids went on to do voice acting. I don't remember hearing anything else in the news besides the stuff Amanda B. has been doing.

I will agree to that. Show business is hard for a child , it's really demanding and it puts them in the public eye which comes with being stalked , people telling lies about you and people writing cruel comments without care about how they'll take it.

(also those people who go "but they have so much money..." are stupid and don't know how psychology works. money doesn't heal psychological wounds. I have advantages that other people my age my not have, and some money in savings...that doesn't stop me from having self-destruction and self confidence issues. )

Being in show business is a psychologically stressful career. It's even worse for kids who work for 'kid friendly' companies because they're expected to be the role model for everyone's kid, rather than just a teen who acts. When they do things other teens get away with , every magazine starts spreading stories that they're 'out of control" and headed for rehab. Parent groups will protest even when they're adults and doing adult things. Personally I find the whole idea of "child actors should ALWAYS stay child friendly" to be disgustingly unhealthy,
