Dear god I hope not. My jobs are kind of mundane and not the best-paying, so being a lifer would suck.

I probably could have been a lifer at one place I quit from a few years ago. But I didn't get along with most of the staff and I nearly walked off the job a number of times before actually quitting. If they weren't so grossly understaffed, they would have eventually found a reason to fire me.

Lesson learned: never work with a bunch of cranky old ladies.
