I am NOT looking forward to this, and I don't think I want there to be a Justice League film either. Partially because DC's track record hasn't been very good so far, and partially because I don't want the migratory slash fandom to latch onto Superman/Batman as the shiny new tumblr trend, and then assimilate the Justice League into their Superwhoavengermerlinhanniballock borg hivemind.

This is a conversation I keep trying to have with people and it never goes anywhere - are the Marvel movies better for their uniformity though there are neither INCREDIBLE nor TERRIBLE ones among them, or are the DC movies better because they are so different though there are some really great ones and some really awful ones among them?

And it's mostly because I think Hollywood is gonna FAIL HARD on getting Wonder Woman right. It's just not gonna end up working, especially since the two big directors are Nolan and Snyder, both known for their sausage fests.

I may have liked the Batman films, but I'm not pretending the women were great, though Selina was a step in the right direction.

But the Superavenwholoack (what it is now) will get out of hand and just...no. NO NO NO.

I like slash, I like fem!slash, but that monster is just, ugh. GO AWAY.

Is this really going to happen, though? Neither the Nolan Batmans nor Man of Steel have that large of a fandom presence on tumblr as it is. Thought it might depend on if they recast Bale...

idgaf about if tumblr goes batshit (I only follow like 2 comics blogs so i'd miss the idiocy) but I am carefully lowering my expectations. Expect the worst and hope for the best.

But it MIGHT be like the Batman/Superman comics series, which I love to an unholy degree...it could happen! (you shoulda heard my sister and I squee when there was a passing reference to Gotham in Superman Returns)
