I think it's good that he kept the actors he hired for Demo Reel but the acting segments are so unfunny most of the time, I usually skip them.
And his 'analytical' rants as himself are cringe-worthy 80% of the time.

"Why is Lok so hot?" (Women love power, women love bad guys)
"Top 11 dumbest moments in LotR" (Sam and Frodo are too gay)

It's like he reads a dozen internet nerd rants by other people and mashes them together. He hardly brings something new to a topic, he just panders to his fanboys.
I can't say I liked his old stuff better, but it sure was more entertaining to me. At least then he wasn't trying to be a poor man's Roger Ebert.

His Batman one made me cringe. "Oh, new characters, EH. Who is this Tim Drake, and why did Batman take another child after Dick. Whoa, Nightwing?! Some evil kid with a monster?!"

...Seriously? I can see him not knowing who Klarion is, but Tim Drake and Nightwing? Really??

I know jackshit about Batman because I couldn't care less about Cape Comics but even I know who Nightwing is. Are you sure that wasn't a joke?

I doubt it, since he wasn't putting on his "WTF IS THIS WHOA' voice he usually does when he's making jokes.

Yeah, the Sam and Frodo are too gay thing annoyed me. He claimed he didn't like that not because he'd have a problem with them being gay, but because there are too few movies that have deep male friendships and it's a rare thing. Um... what? There are LOADS of movies that have male friendships! If anything having a same-sex relationship in a movie (where it's just a normal movie, and the main focus of the movie isn't on the fact that it's a same-sex relationship) is far more rare than bromance movies!
