Enya is the bee's knees. Seriously, musical acts in the "New Age" genre that don't put you to sleep with how boring they are are so precious and rare, why bash the ones that are actually good.

(Other non boring acts: Enigma, Era, Cusco, Deep Forest. Go listen to cool stuff, people!)

When I got married, we spent all our limited budget on food for our guests rather than a DJ ... and so after the ceremony we played CDs. "Upon Your Shore" from Enya's first album was our first dance.

More than twenty years later, that first line still mists me up.

Seriously, though, I've loved her music for over 15 years, and my musical tastes these days run the gamut from quiet new age-y stuff to growly metal. So anyone who might give you grief for your tastes can, quite frankly, STFU.

And to add to another comment regarding good artists that are somewhat similar in style, I personally recommend Adiemus (their self-titled track has frequently been mislabelled as an Enya song all over the internet), Loreena McKennitt, David Arkenstone (who's also done a lot of World of Warcraft music), and Lesiem.
