Tetsuya is thinking "He met with his fated shadow. The true light. The manga doesn't show it, but Tetsuya is a young man with short light blue hair, blue eyes and pale skin and youthful looks. Taiga is a young man with short dark red hair, red eyes and lightly tanned pale skin. Both are wearing basketball uniforms.]

When this happened I laughed. Listening to you conflate their basketball partnership with a romantic one and shit on any other relationship as "less significant" for months... only for the character himself to turn around and say that the other dude was the real deal!

I enjoyed watching you backtrack. He's only talking about basketball, right?
