You are completely allowed to love the art but not the artist, OP! Even a small-minded bigot can create great works, and you should be allowed to enjoy that creation without feeling bad.

If it helps any, my entire country sort of does this; one of our classical, talented authors was a Nazi, and to this day there are arguments about whether we should name s street after him in recognition of his artistry or if we should avoid any street-naming because of the Nazism. There are no streetnames yet, but he's still in the literary canon.

Tl;dr - if an entire country can appreciate the art and despise the artist, you can too OP!

ETA: Oh, and I forgot to add my total *love* for Ender's Game. ♥ It made such an impression on me as a kid.
