I'm a woman and.....

(Anonymous) 2013-08-02 11:00 pm (UTC)(link)
I find the OP and their attitude obnoxious and sickening. Seriously if you honestly think your situation in life makes you entitled to enjoy people's discomfort-in my mind you're just as bad as the people who think being a man entitles them to make women uncomfortable.

A sick little creep.

As long as we keep thinking we are entitled to make people uncomfortable society is going to continue to suck. Pushing someone because you were pushed and saying it's okay has never done anything or reached any goals.

Also what about actual gay guys who find bad slash where 'Rape Is Love' is played straight and such uncomfortable? You know because that's a legit thing.

I'm not saying men have it worse, I'm not saying women have it worse, I'm saying don't complain about people who make you uncomfortable when you're going to turn around and go "lol look at them squirm. They're probably gross dudebros so they deserve it" .

Spite for people who MIGHT deserve it never did anything.

Fuck you OP , people like you are an embarrassment to feminism. If your response is "well you must hate women" or "you're not really a woman" then you've completely missed the point.

Ugh internet slacktivism is so fucking obnoxious.

Ever heard of the saying 'afflicting the comfortable'?

Discomfort is an inevitable reaction to the unfamiliar. It's something everyone does & should encounter sometimes and work through.

Oh for fuck's sake

so if someone's a woman they should NEVER be made to feel uncomfortable because it's basic human rights.

But men : "lol they need to learn to get used to it"

(FYI I'm under the belief that the OP is referring to slash that is actually objectifying and not the existence of slash. I fully support the existence of slash. But I have a distaste for snickering at people's discomfort and just assuming they must deserve it because they're a man and society as a whole is unfair to women. which it is.)

No duh, women are going to feel uncomfortable sometimes too. I'm not sure why you assumed I'd think otherwise.

Hey, I'm not forcing them to look at it, or creating it solely to make them uncomfortable. Or doing anything at all about it. I'm just expressing amusement at how mainstream misogyny/objectification leads to something that discomforts the people that it's pandering towards.

Like when a thief gets back from robbing a store only to realize his getaway car was stolen. Theft is bad and wrong, of course, but in that case it was kind of karmic.
