I do not get why a certain subset of shippers thinks their ship is actually CANON!!! and then proceeds to look for the barest shreds of evidence to support their flimsy argument. And it then seems to lead to the fans asking the actors creepy questions at cons.

Why? WHY DOES IT NEED TO BE CANON? Can you not ship & enjoy stuff without it having to be canon?

Both Bryan Fuller and Mads Mikkelsen have practically confirmed it's canon, at least on Hannibal's side.

*rolls eyes* They have not. An intense fascination and desire to manipulate is not the same as a romantic attachment.

Mads hasn't confirmed Hannibal's romantic interest in Will but he has said numerous times that he sees companionship and friendship in Will and a chance to be understood. It goes beyond fascination.
