I feel you with RDJ, OP, I don't much see the appeal. Chris Evans (did you deliberately choose an especially unflattering photo of him, btw?) has that "classic American leading man" sort of face that's been falling more and more out of fashion in favor of delicate features and narrow eyes for a long time. But it's entirely appropriate to Captain America.

That said, attractiveness is a highly subjective thing. I'm completely baffled by Benedict Cumberbatch's popularity; somewhat less so by Tom Hiddleston's. But even the same actor can look very different depending on the context. One of my personal favorites, Misha Collins, has a rather oddly-put-together face and isn't afraid to contort it in all sorts of bizarre ways; he's landed, fairly I think, on both 'sexiest' and 'ugliest' actors lists.

I'm sort of the inverse of you in that I can see how people find RDJ, Cumberbatch, & Hiddleston attractive, but the popularity of Collins remains a mystery to me. Of course the ever-popular George Clooney and Brad Pitt never did anything for me either. But yeah, it's all subjective and if everyone liked the same things, life would be very boring.

Collins is someone who's personality could play into it, I'm not exactly a Misha fangirl, I find him somewhat attractive but I started loving him a million times more when I find out how hilarious he is.

I've also seen Cumberbatch's fangirls say quite often that they don't really find him that attractive but they love his voice. For me his voice is not enough to get over that face, but hey, more reasons why it's subjective.

All these things come into play with attraction in addition to personal preferences.

For me, I don't find Misha Collins attractive physically and I find his personality very off-putting on top of it all. But hey, if you like him that means I don't have to :-)
