I'm a bit of two minds about this, yes I agree it's extremely disrespectful to talk about how you don't care when someone just died.

But as far as people having babies and things, while I wouldn't ever post "I don't care" I do think having 5 million articles about celebrity pregnancy and then even more after the baby is born is not only ridiculous but is also delving way too much into the private lives of other people.

Like why is it even that interesting? Why do people need to know that much detail? Like a general announcement of the pregnancy and then maybe one picture is enough. I don't get how people can discuss these things for days on end.

This. I get that in this case, it's a bigger deal than your average celeb pregnancy because this kid is essentially in line for the throne, but even half a globe away, the coverage was extremely excessive and still is.

I felt the same way about the royal wedding though.

AYRT. Even regular celebrity pregnancy coverage is generally too much for me. I keep up with entertainment news because I want to know what is going on in entertainment, you know like those things celebrities are supposed to be doing for a living.

Plus I have to add I've seen some really VILE things said about female celebrities when they're pregnant, so I'd just rather stay away from the conversation all together.

Ah, then, the difference is, I avoid entertainment news of most kinds, so it's easy to avoid the regular celeb pregnancy gossip. But with the royal baby it was impossible.

I used to read some celeb gossip mags many years ago, so I can imagine what they say about the female celebs' bodies especially pregnant ones.

I agree with all of this and while I'm generally happy for people and their newborns, I'm not overtly interested. I don't normally say or post anything about them, but if someone wants to discuss it (looking at you, mom) I don't really have anything of significance to say. "That's cool" or "Good for them!" is the gist of it.

If other people want to discuss it I don't have an issue, I just don't take part.
