I'm sorry you feel that way, OP, but at least there are lots of cool characters who limp or have to use a cane: Gandalf, Harold Finch, Carrie Weaver, Dr. House, Hershel from The Walking Dead, Yoda...

This is one great list of characters.

And OP, I don't see what you have to be embarrassed about. Everyone has limitations, physical and otherwise, and it's just a part of life that we all have to deal with. Obviously some are more serious and more difficult to deal with than others, but the point remains: you shouldn't be ashamed.

Plus, canes are badass and can double as weapons! :)

Accelerator from Toaru.... Although looking at it I think his may be closer to a forearm crutch

I want to add Jody Parrish, who had to use a cane due to an injury, and still led a rebellion to save mankind.

I personally like that Mr. Gold uses a cane on OUaT. There was a great article on a PwD-related blog a while back about how his disability is played completely natural and not made into a huge thing. There's no ~very special episode~ about it or people making awkward concessions or whatever. It's just a part of his character. There are small things like when he told Emma he couldn't run, but it's never blown up or harped on. Makes me feel good idk. I sometimes fantasize about hitting jerks with my cane too oops
