Ahh yeah Celestia shares the space with characters like Gandalf and Dumbledore when it comes to fan interpretations of their character. People see a character that has great political and personal power, and also seems to be a great person morally and they think to themselves,"there has to be some great flaw or dark secret to this person, they can't be as good and nice as the canon portrays them".

So we end up with evil Dumbledore, Tyrantlestia, and now are starting to see Evil Twilight Sparkle fics increase, since obviously she is going to fall into corruption within seconds of becoming a princess. Because some fans just can't accept that authority isn't all secretly corrupt, tyranical, and controlling. Of course once you compare this to the opposite reaction of some fans to relentlessly woobify any villain with any sort of sympathetic back story you end up with a lot of stories that have an evil Celestia fighting a good, heroic Luna; Usually also portrayed as progressive and free-spirited compared to the conservative controlling Celestia (despite the fact Luna spent the last 1000 years on the moon, and Celestia spent that time leading one of the most idealistic, progressive fictional kingdoms in recent cartoon history).

Still, there is plenty of heart-warming celestia fics and pictures out there that portray her as a loving ruler, role model or surrogate mother for twilight, or even shipping stuff if that's what your into. Despite the troll and pervert memes that surround her, I think most people acknowledge that canon Celestia is still the mother/mentor character that does genuinely love all her little ponies.

Is there any evil Gandalf out there?
I think some people refer to Gandalf as a troll, just like they do with Dumbledore and Celestia, but I think I've never seen tyrannical Gandalf fanon or fic.

There's some evil Gandalf, usually when its a self-insert story using the movie versions of the characters, Gandalf gets cast as an antagonist stopping the SI from attaining her TWU-LUV.

Admittedly with Gandalf it more often comes down to making him look incompetent to raise other characters the author likes better on a pedestal. He doesn't get it nearly as bad as Dumbledore (honestly even Celestia doesn't get it as bad as Dumbledore), but Gandalf seems to be the go-to fall guy when you want to make your OC or other canon characters look better by comparison.

The nearest I have seen to evil!Gandalf (given that I don't read fics with OC protagonists) is that Gandalf can get too distracted by what he's doing that he misses how some people are affected.

He's too busy running around fighting Necromancers and finding out what's going on with magic rings to realize dragging Bilbo along on the Company's quest is what would end up with Bilbo losing Bag End permanently (that is a basic gist of at least one fic I have seen).

I have yet to see him cast as outright evil. He is cast as a troll in the internet sense of someone who plays jokes and sits back and laughs at minor misunderstandings, but it's usually about things that in the long run won't mess the whole of Middle Earth up.

Addendum: I think a lot of what happens to Gandalf in fic is more humanizing him. He is, technically, an angel in human form, so people seem to play on how he's not some perfect ideal being.
