Re: COMPLAINTS THREAD

I was stupid and somehow completely forgot to renew my car registration so now my tags are expired and I can't drive my car so I have to get someone to drive me to the DMV tomorrow to renew it. I feel like such an idiot.

It happens to the best of us. I hope things go smoothly for you at the DMV.

No problem, anon. Seriously, best wishes.

Thanks...it was actually the best experience I've ever had at the DMV. I walked in and took a number and as I sat down they called the number right before mine, so I only ended up having to wait like 2 minutes, and was out of there in 5. Plus the lady was super nice. :D

Wow! That sounds fantastic. I'm glad all went well.

ngl, I once spent like three weeks driving around with my tags expired before my mom pointed it out to me one day. it happens to the best of us. I really doubt you'll get pulled over if you just drive to the DMV but I guess better safe than sorry

Yeah, I thought of just doing it anyway since it seems like there's a really small chance of getting pulled over but it would be a ton of hassle if I did and I'm not sure it's worth it.

At least you realized it before you got pulled over. I've had the unpleasant and expensive experience of thinking my registration was up-to-date only to find out the hard way that it wasn't.

That sucks. :(

How likely do you think it is that you'll be pulled over? Do you suck at driving? Do you drive past a lot of speed traps or cop cars a lot?

I'd just drive on down there with all my paperwork, observing all rules, etc., and not worry about it. If you get pulled over, you show 'em all your stuff and tell 'em where you're going. Worked for the one time i had to do it.

I think there's probably a pretty small chance of it happening but I'm afraid to chance it since if I do get pulled over I'll have to go down to the courthouse and show proof of registration after I renew it, to get out of the ticket (at least that's what I've been told will happen). Just sounds like way too much hassle. It sucks but I guess stuff happens.

That sucks, dude.

It could be worse. My dad once didn't pay registration for more than six months past their expiry. At that point, they can tow your car out of your driveway. I found out when I got pulled over on my way to pick up my dad. I think the only reason the cop let me go was because the kid I was babysitting was in the back seat.

They do tend to hang out around DMVs, don't they? Public transit? Cab? You'll get it fixed.

Oh wow. I didn't know they could do that!

My dad has agreed to give me a ride. I feel bad for inconveniencing him (though he says he doesn't mind) but I guess it's not that big a deal.

At least in my state. Yea, it was kind of a surprise.

Wishing you short lines and neutral clerks!
