I do the exact same thing, but with House M.D. If that fandom weren't dead, I'd write the fic myself.

We're only MOSTLY dead! I've seen worse.

And I would so read that fic, because I love Elementary, and if House ran into Holmes, Holmes would eventually figure out who he was, but would not turn him in.
