I have a trans medical history and I find this kind of thing embarrassing too. I dunno, I guess because it feels awkwardly personal, like I've stumbled into the fic-writer's underwear drawer or something. I don't fault writers for doing whatever they feel they need to to get some representation, but fandom is the last place I personally want to hear about trans issues/struggles. Fandom is where I escape from that kind of irl stuff. More power to them, I just can't stand it myself.

(I also wouldn't wish being born trans on my worst enemy, let alone my favorite character, so that's another reason I can't enjoy trans-canon fics tbh)
