I think a lot of folks are are seeking an outlet for their feelings of marginalization, and that's cool, but if you backbutton, it might be because you are relating to the characters deeply enough that it feels like someone is pushing the wrong gender on the characters, and you are feeling dysphoria on their behalf, and that's upsetting.
