I was introduced to tumblr by my friends and that's why we mutually follow each other, but it's getting kind of awkward. One of my friends has a photography blog, and she also reblogs many of those typical pictures, a bowl of apples, sunsets, quotes, etc. The other friend has an artsy blog.

I have an anime fandom blog, and I mostly blog about my femslash ships. I'm a lesbian in the closet, but I feel like I'm getting more and more obvious by the day. They haven't really mentioned it, and I am sort of secretly hoping that they've blacklisted my url. I mean, I don't feel like getting a new blog, but still, I think about this stuff from time to time.

This is the same basic problem that I have. Tumblr is widely socially acceptable, so when people hear I have one we become mutual followers, which means I'm hyperaware about my fandom tumblring being seen by non-fandom friends. I could make a separate tumblr, but one dashboard is hard enough to keep up with as it is.

It's just a big old mess of anxiety and ruined fun, really.

It's really easy to create a second sideblog on your account so you can keep all your fandom separate! That's what I do, and it's a lifesaver. You still have just one dashboard and one account, but you can have multiple blogs linked to that account.

How about you just tell them that you don't want to share your tumblr with them? I mean it actually is that easy.
