I ship Destiel so much. I don't read fic or anything but I think they have a very good bond. A deep kind of bond, for better or worse cuz no one would say it's healthy, and it's def got homoerotic tones to it.

It would be interesting if it became canon but we all know it won't. And I don't think it would add anything to the story besides kissing and possibly sexual moments, which are unnecessary. (In fact, pretty much all the sexual moments on the show have been unnecessary, het or otherwise.) Dean already acts like a betrayed lover more than half the time LOL.

I'm not yet all way done with the series (Mid season 6 to be exact) but so far? I ship them.

I'm absolutely sure it will never be canon, due to many, many reasons, but at the same time, I could easily write an essay explaining why it could be canon(if we just added the unnecessary sexual moments you mention). However, I have no idea if I should, since apparently, saying 'hey, it could be canon' automatically makes you a crazy fan.

Also not current (just finished s.6) and similar feelings. I think it's kind of silly to require a sexual relationship when one partner is angelic, anyway... The only time I super shipped it was in that one AU episode where Dean was leading the Resistance and Cas became a mortal, hippy, love guru.

Though, granted, I think the best way to make Destiel canon would be to kick Castiel into a female vessel temporarily, have something happen, then deal with the awkward when he gets Jimmy back.
