I love Destiel. Is my #1 pairing in SPN but even I have gotten sick of a lot of the fans. Especially those stupid "campaigns" they have every other week.

Though, Wincest shippers can be equally annoying (I follow both Wincest and Destiel shippers). But I guess they can't campaign because realistically Wincest has no chance ever of becoming canon.

I FUCKING HATE DESTIEL.

I sail a lot of ships on this show, because there is always something in canon that makes me think, "Hrmmm, maybe... I can get down with that!" But it's how fucking entitled Destiel shippers are, how convinced they are that Dean is gay, when that hasn't been made canon at all. It's the way my supposed friend fell into that bullshit trap and can't see anything but her own vanilla love and everything else is "gross." Her lack of imagination and spam posting of Destiel crap is what really pushed me over the edge, not just the amount of Destiel crazy that is par for the course these days.

Not to mention the fact, I'm very much open to the men of Supernatural having relationships with women on top of my fandom ships. But all I see is negative crap about any woman who dares to come between the pretty men.

I love Wincest (not just Sam/Dean, just in the family) as my main ships, but I'm not pushing that down anyone's throat. I also don't give people crap for loving what they love. I just wish the Supernatural fandom would get a clue and do the same.

Are you me. I am tired of the clueless fans grabbing at anything to prove that Dean is in love with Castiel. Even if it is completely out of character or wrong. Like there was one scene in which Dean was talking to Castiel about the Angel searching for information and Dean called Cas, "Huggybear" because of this. The Destiel fans clamped on this as proof that Dean was in love with Castiel, otherwise, in their minds, why would Dean call Castiel such a cute, pet name. Never mind in reality the writers were making a Starsky and Hutch reference. Huggybear was an informant. But, no. To Destiel fans this was all the proof they needed for their ship. Trying to convince otherwise is like pulling teeth.

What I hate the most is them starting to harass the actors over it. No. Just no.

I hate Destiel, too. But for the most part, it's because Castiel (while okay in his own right) kind of took over the show, in my opinion. Now it seems so pandering and I hate fanservice even when it favors my ship.

And a lot of Destiel fans are obnoxious about shit like the After Elton ship polls.

I ship Destiel so much. I don't read fic or anything but I think they have a very good bond. A deep kind of bond, for better or worse cuz no one would say it's healthy, and it's def got homoerotic tones to it.

It would be interesting if it became canon but we all know it won't. And I don't think it would add anything to the story besides kissing and possibly sexual moments, which are unnecessary. (In fact, pretty much all the sexual moments on the show have been unnecessary, het or otherwise.) Dean already acts like a betrayed lover more than half the time LOL.

It is interesting that you say you ship Wincest seeing that for all the batshit Destiel shippers I've seen, I've seen far, far worse coming from the Wincest part of the fandom. For starters, the Tinhatters are firmly in the Wincest camp.

I think that once ANY pairing gets away from just fanfic/fanart/meta and starts insisting that they're actually, no really this guys, for SERIOUS, canon, why can't you see it, OMGOMG, they get really annoying. A loud portion of destiel shippers are there, but honestly, there's a wincest fraction that's just as bad. Just try to stay away from the crazy.

THIS! I personlly didn't care when I came into it, it was like a "ship Castiel with all things" but the shippers I've encountered are BSC and then get pissed when you even suggest there could be a different pairing. It's the BSC ones that have brought down the entire ship.

Every fandom has got it's loud and kind of scary fans, and tbh the spn fandom has several sets of those just to make things... fun.

And it's not just the D/C'ers that shit on the ladies, it's been happening since day one and doesn't look like it's going to stop anytime soon(there are just even more shippers to add to it now).

I used to like the pairing when I started watching the show, I thought it was interesting and I could see where the shippers are coming from. I even think that there's a strong canon basis to suggest that Dean is bisexual or even gay and very repressed. But the Destiel shippers are such obnoxious assholes that I've also grown to dislike the pairing. No, it's not canon. No, it's not the only true Supernatural ship and all other ship sucks. No, you're not better than Wincest shippers. Get over yourselves. Destiel shippers are like the Sterek shippers of the Supernatural fandom.

Ok, I'm sorry, but a Wincest shipper claiming Destiel fans are the worst is honestly hilarious. Your pairing is INCEST, but that hasn't stopped them from bringing it up from day one. The only reason it's died down now is because the fans seem to have realized the show's never going to go there with an incest pairing. Destiel is newer and it's not incest and you know what? Maybe the fans are a little annoying. But they've never shown their disgusting, disturbing manips to the actors, or threatened the actors's wives, etc. etc. Wow. A Wincest shipper calling Destiel fans crazy, that's really something.

And I'm also pretty sure it's Wincest shippers that got actual female characters written off the show. Jo, Bela, Ruby, Anna...all of these characters had longer arcs planned that were cut off abruptly precisely because of the Sam/Dean and "brothers only!" fans. The amount of hate leveled at these otherwise interesting female characters is sickening. I can't think of a single female character Destiel fans hate as much...the only person that comes to mind is Meg, and she's the single longest running female recurring character (or recurring character period- she actually appeared before Bobby on the show). Yeah she got killed off recently, but only after flirting heavily with Cas. And I still see a lot of Destiel fans who don't hate the idea of Meg/Cas.

So, yeah. Basically your post sucks.

I don't hate the fact that people ship it. And my only SPN ship is a ghost ship, long since, so I have no particular horse in that race. I just wish they wouldn't try to turn everything about both characters into it.

Cas and Dean are their own people, and not everything in their lives is all about each other. I can't count how many times I've been reading an otherwise interesting and well-written fic or meta piece and then went "...oh. They're going there again. *Siiiiiiigh*"

And no, the creators of the show are not in any way obligated to make the ship canon, and a lot of us don't want them to. So I wish the Destiel shippers who keep howling about it would just stop.

What gets me is the people who are honestly, truly convinced that it's going to become canon. That Dean is suddenly going to turn around and declare his love for Cas and everyone will cheer and ride off into the sunset. Like... seriously? Are you nuts? There's a myriad of reasons it's not going to happen (from "this is still American television, an out-of-the-blue gay plot twist would not end well" to "the show isn't supposed to be centered on romance anyway" and everything in between), but they're so obsessed that if it doesn't happen, idk what they're going to do.

OT but it also annoys me how obsessed they are with dead characters. "Bring Adam back! Bring Ellen back! Bring Meg back! Bring Gabriel back!" NO. SHUT UP. (...well, except Gabe. Gabe was hilarious.)
