Okay, but I think you've got a few too many greats there - Voyager is only about 360 years in the future.

Ballpark me a figure of the maximum amount of generations you think could exist between Batman and Kathryn Janeway. Taking both biological and legal factors into consideration.

...pretty please?

I can't do math, but 21 seems to be feasible, if unlikely, if the mothers had their children very early in life.

360/20=18. 360/15=24. So you could technically fit 21 generations in biologically, but it would be culturally unlikely.

See that's what I figured but didn't want to be all like "Nuh-uh," and then have yet another embarrassing incident with pesky math.

Also, in related news, I love f!s. Yet again I have extremely nerdy, completely useless factoid I'm sure I will find a way to needlessly exhibit in a casual conversation and further cement my reputation as a weirdo.

That's how I figured it too. I guess I underestimated my ability to do math.

ayrt

Well, technically, the maximum number is more than 23 (21 greats + 2 for granddaughter), but that would mean that every generation would have to have kids very young, whereas a mean of something like 25 would make more sense. Then again, as time goes on, I could see a woman's reproductive years being extended and that number would go up. Of course, there's also the issue Batman's timeline - honestly, you could argue that he could have had a child in, say, 1927 (assuming he was about 30 when he first appeared in 1939) or that he doesn't have a child yet, depending on the incarnation.

I came here to say exactly this.
