Secret 1
In principle, I support the right of every fan to create fanworks at their own level of skill and with however much effort they choose, because this is all for fun, and fanwork quality is largely subjective anyway.
In practice, I spend a lot of time shouting "Learn to spell!" and "That is an indescribably awful story premise!" and "Nothing about this is a good idea!" at my computer, and wishing I could throw things at the authors.
Bonus Secret: I deeply resent the avalanche of crap you get on Archive Of Our Own these days, and blame tumblr for being a bad fic platform and driving all the newbies there.
Secret 2
I FUCKING HATE DESTIEL.
I sail a lot of ships on this show, because there is always something in canon that makes me think, "Hrmmm, maybe... I can get down with that!" But it's how fucking entitled Destiel shippers are, how convinced they are that Dean is gay, when that hasn't been made canon at all. It's the way my supposed friend fell into that bullshit trap and can't see anything but her own vanilla love and everything else is "gross." Her lack of imagination and spam posting of Destiel crap is what really pushed me over the edge, not just the amount of Destiel crazy that is par for the course these days.
Not to mention the fact, I'm very much open to the men of Supernatural having relationships with women on top of my fandom ships. But all I see is negative crap about any woman who dares to come between the pretty men.
I love Wincest (not just Sam/Dean, just in the family) as my main ships, but I'm not pushing that down anyone's throat. I also don't give people crap for loving what they love. I just wish the Supernatural fandom would get a clue and do the same.
Secret 3
Lately I dread discovering that gay romance authors I enjoy used to be in my old fandoms. Some were real jerks. I just want to enjoy reading without reminders of old elitist crap. [sad face emoticon]
Picture unrelated; not mine.
I think I have some old fandom issues I haven't been able to forget. [sad face emoticon]
Secret 4
This is my ABSOLUTE favorite Pixar/Disney movie, and every time someone makes a mention of it (usually negatively, can you san underrated?) I just get overwhelmed by CARS FEELS and can't go on.
Secret 5
I am convinced that she is Batman's great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-granddaughter.
Secret 6
I love Mads but I hate what they've done to Hannibal. Hannibal wouldn't kill innocent teenager girls to see what would happen. He kills people who offend him or pose a threat to his survival. He's not a "good" guy but he doesn't kill children either.
Secret 7
They helped define my childhood, even though I only saw a couple of episodes.
Secret 8
It took me years to admit without embarrassment or apology that this was the fandom I started out in. (I changed my pen name when I "left it behind.")
Bonus secret: Even when I do, I rarely mention that it was the most fun I've ever had participating in a fandom, with some of the friendliest, funniest, most talented people I've ever met ... because I'm afraid I'll get laughed at or thought of as unintelligent or a freak (or worse) by the new fandom.
Secret 9
I was always disappointed this movie wasn't a male-pregnancy flick.
Secret 10
Friendship Is Magic cast from left to right and top to bottom: Pinkie Pie, a pony with light blue eyes, a fluffy pink mane and tail and pastel pink coat. Rainbow Dash, a pegasus pony with with a rainbow colored mane and light blue coat and magenta eyes. Twilight Sparkle, a unicorn pony with a dark blue mane with a pink streak and a purple streak running in the middle, a pale violet coat and purple eyes. Rarity, a unicorn pony with a purple curled mane and tail, white coat and royal blue eyes. There is a picture of three blue diamonds on her hip. Applejack, a pony wearing a light brown cowboy hat, blonde mane and tail tied at the ends, light orange coat and a picture of three red apples on her hip. She has green eyes. And Fluttershy, a pony pegasus with pastel pink mane and tail, pastel yellow coat and turquoise eyes. Pinkie Pie is standing on her rear legs, holding herself up with a front leg on Rarity's head, who is sitting down and raising a front leg daintily. Rainbow Dash appears to be hovering, Twilight is sitting in the middle, Applejack is standing up and raising a front leg and Fluttershy is laying down in front of all.
Disney Fairies cast, from left to right (they all have gossamer wings and handmade shoes? matching their general color scheme, pointy ears and look like small female humans around teenagehood or young adulthood): Iridessa, with black hair pulled back in a bun, somewhat dark skin and wearing a sleeveless yellow dress. Tinkerbell, with light olive skin, blonde hair pulled back in a bun and wearing a strapless, sleeveless light green dress. Rosetta, with long wavy red hair, light olive skin and wearing a pink strapless, sleeveless dress. Fawn?, with light tanned skin, long brownish red hair pulled back, wearing orange shorts and a sleeveless red dress or long blouse over that. Silvermist, with long black hair, light skin and blue dress with only the right strap and no sleeves. Vidia, with light skin and very long dark blue hair pulled up in a high ponytail, wearing tight purple pants and a short sleeveless blouse or dress over that. They're flying on a field, hugging each other and posing for the camera.]
It bothers me when a children's cartoon has characters that figure out their skill and purpose in life in an easy way. It's not easy to find your destiny in real life and some people go through their entire lives not knowing what they're meant to be. Teaching kids to "follow their heart and their destinies will reveal themselves" is a pretty poor lesson when it's not conducive to real life.
Secret 11
When this first came out, this was one of my favorite things ever. I wasn't super-fannish about it, I just enjoyed it a lot. But now I can barely re-read it, and I don't understand why, it's about the only thing I lost interest in this quick.
Secret 12
I REGRET introducing my friend to Tumblr. She dove off into fandoms that have fucked with our friendship. She doesn't know yet, because I haven't told her, but I created a new Tumblr just to get away from her and another someone I only met due to playing around on Tumblr.
