Dude. Grow up. The doctor as a character is built to change from actor to actor. Sam Vimes and Carrot Ironfounderson are fixed characters, who's appearances and histories have been set up. Kind of a different situation.

Carrot, I was thinking about that guy from the 21 jump street movie, but being American I can't see it.

Willis is too square. Vimes always seemed more lanky. Also, American. Also, too much of a maverick cop type.
