Honestly, I feel that way as well. I was always one of those people that thought Tumblr was killing fandom but then I got into it and I really like it and feel more involved on there.

I just hoped it was a continuation of the original anime adaptation instead of adapting the new manga (that somewhat failed to interest me), but I'm so happy Rozen Maiden got a new anime that I might just explode of happiness.

Randall obviously has a thing for both Mike and Sully. Mike has a thing for Sully and vice versa. At some point, Mike and Sully either decide to be just friends or in an open relationship (there's where Cecila comes in). Randall still holds a torch for Mike somewhat and Sully especially in Monsters Inc. Post-Monsters Inc. finds Randall back from his unofficial banishment and trying to redeem himself in the eyes of his heroes, were he and Sully begin a torrid, secret love affair (because Mike doesn't know Randall is back and because Sully is open and forgiving for the most part, he is helping Randall to redeem himself in some way).

Er. That might be my head canon. Sorry.

Now that you mention it, I guess I can see how people could feel that way about Day's voice, but I've always rather liked his voice. I think it suits him.
