I thought everyone who liked semi-colons agreed that they are fun. They let you type as if you're a person who barely takes a breath in between sentences.

... but semi-colons are ways to stop in the middle of a sentence to take a breath. You just don't lower your voice as you would with a full stop. A comma, on the other hand, doesn't give you the opportunity to really stop; that's what a semi-colon is there for. Semi-colons can't be used in the place of a full stop and full stops can't be used in the place of a semi-colon.
