I'm curious, OP. Did the writer say, as everyone is assuming, that they just don't read other fics or was there more to it than that and they've actually said some really insulting things?

I'm just wondering because if it's the former - well, someone else in this thread said it much better than I could about why some people might not read much fic - but if it's the latter, I don't blame you.

OP here.

The writer is insulting about other people's work. Writer in question spends all day talking about their own fic and gets upset when any other work is brought up and praised.

Writer isn't a dick for not reading fanfic; writer's a dick for being disparaging and elitist.
