Why? Please don't let it be a "they are all colourful over the top characters", and more along the lines of slash potential.

Why not? People don't need a reason to be queer. They just are.

But there's something weird about thinking characters are homosexual or in a homosexual relationship rather than just a close friendship.

(Not my opinion, channelling anons on f!s who've said this.)

...do you realize that you can be gay and still have close friendships? Some of us even have close friendships with other gay people of the same sex. Gasp, it's like we're normal people and not the sex obsessed deviants society wants us to be.

I'm questioning your use of 'you'. Either you mean people who say that stuff or you don't know how to read and I don't know which it is...

I'm guessing because colorful/over the top are stereotypes used in the Hays Code days that are now hurtful and just plain old and tired.

That said I would like to add that the pink girls with the three eyes are totally hot and thinking about them kissing lady monsters is making me smile like an idiot.

I have to echo the 'why not?' up thread. Some people, by default, assume characters are straight until proven otherwise. Other people assume they're gay until proven otherwise. etc. etc.

Personally, when it comes to animated characters, I assume they're of the 'anything goes' variety. I mean, especially in this one, they're monsters, what's to say male/female is the only gender norm there..???
