But there's something weird about thinking characters are homosexual or in a homosexual relationship rather than just a close friendship.

...do you realize that you can be gay and still have close friendships? Some of us even have close friendships with other gay people of the same sex. Gasp, it's like we're normal people and not the sex obsessed deviants society wants us to be.

I'm guessing because colorful/over the top are stereotypes used in the Hays Code days that are now hurtful and just plain old and tired.

That said I would like to add that the pink girls with the three eyes are totally hot and thinking about them kissing lady monsters is making me smile like an idiot.
