I don't think it's "you synch, you immediately mind meld completely" Rather more of, you know what the others thinking. So if somebody goes into an old memory, your going to get a shot of that.

But that's counterproductive, since strong memories can in fact mess with your perceptions. So you keep clear. Focused on what's in front of you (usually this means punching monsters).

Memories are shared, but it's more like a watching a friends browser surfing rather then going through his bookmarks and history, dig?
