idk, sorry to say, but there are a lot of fandoms where one person is clearly a hell of a lot better than the other mediocre-at-best writers, and if some people like those less-talented writers' stuff, that's awesome, but an author is not obligated to read crap fic when they really do think it's crap. It's not going to help her get better to read worse stuff.

OP: Writer in question is not better than other writers. Author has a lot to learn about writing, and reading other people's fic rather than turning up their nose would definitely improve their skill. Buuuut... writer in question has superiority complex. So.
