Different people have different ideas of what's fun, man.

Like, I think semi-colons are fun. I fucking love the shit out of them. But they get a lot of hate. Oh boy, do they. Also, most people who like them and use them don't classify them as "fun," so I get side-eyed even by the folks who should be my allies (why will you not join with me, my brothers and sisters?).

So, OP doesn't hate fun; s/he just loves things that are semi-colonish.

I thought everyone who liked semi-colons agreed that they are fun. They let you type as if you're a person who barely takes a breath in between sentences.

... but semi-colons are ways to stop in the middle of a sentence to take a breath. You just don't lower your voice as you would with a full stop. A comma, on the other hand, doesn't give you the opportunity to really stop; that's what a semi-colon is there for. Semi-colons can't be used in the place of a full stop and full stops can't be used in the place of a semi-colon.

I had fun once.

I hated it.

But in all seriousness, I get where OP is coming from. I was hyped for this movie but in the end it just wasn't my thing. I can appreciate the cinematography for the fight scenes (dat hong kong) and the designs that went into the kaiju and the jaegers, but literally everything else was just very...horrible. The acting, the dialogue, the script. Etc. My friend argued it was done like that on purpose, to over exaggerate the troupes of the genres, but that just meant it was supposed to be that bad, not accidental.

I'm a total sucker for 'humanity vs alien' movies, a fan of anime/manga so am aware of mecha, and love sci-fi dystopic kinds of movies, but every character was forgettable and there was little to no chemistry in their relationships. The only one that stuck out was the small bit of rivalry between the two scientists, the Australian dad/son duo, and the russian couple.

I physically cringed at how horrible forced some of the drama was. That hasn't happened since my sister dragged me to the abomination that was The Host.
