Demanding that other people transform themselves in order to suit your tastes is not much better than demanding that fandom not use tumblr.

I don't think AYRT was asking people to transform themselves in order to suit them, but rather that instead of complaining that things have changed and that you don't like it, try the new thing and try to work with it instead of fighting against it.

There are ways that Tumblr is good for fandom--maybe conversations the LJ/DW way isn't one of them--but it is excelent for sharing fanfic/fanart/fanvids/etc if you understand how best to go about it. (Understanding the tag system is key here.)
