New York Comic-con
Anyone have any experiences with NYCC to share with a novice? The biggest con I have been to would probably be A-kon in Dallas... but I haven't been to a con in probably 8 years.

Re: New York Comic-con
First of all, the convention center is big so expect to get lost. Also, if you want to get into a big panel get there early. Seriously lines get huge. Especially if it deal with the IGN theater. Also, in the mornings, when the con starts, expect a long ass line winding around the block. Also, be a aware there will be people aka volunteers in bright colored shirts yelling directions.
HYDRATE. HYDRATE. HYDRATE. HYDRATE. Definitely a big thing. If yo wanna get something to eat go outside. There is a McDonalds about two blocks away. There are more food place as you move further. There is Chinese food place that offers a 5 dollar food deal which is pretty sweet. Also, on the other side of the street are wooden benches and concrete benches with outlets. There are quite a few places to eat. But if you can try to buys stuff from outside at eat it there.
That's all I can think of for now. It's really fun though. In spire of the lines and crowding. Feel free to ask about other stuff!
Re: New York Comic-con
Do you enjoy volunteering? I used always to volunteer at anime conventions because I mostly went to see the concerts and go shopping, but for NYCC I am mostly interested in panels and stuff so I would hate to miss anything. However you probably DO get to meet the celebrities ;)
Re: New York Comic-con
Yes, I do! I mean, apart from sometimes getting a free ticket in. I like helping out. Well, to be fair I didn't really get to meet any celebrities. I did mostly panel and line management. Also, we are closely watched b.c a few years ago a group of volunteers swarmed Seth Green. Of course, they suffocated and scared the crap outta him. So, Seth Green is a little wary of the NYCC volunteers. 8C
Still, I met great friend because of volunteering.
