OMG, you have not gotten in trouble for those? D: I always have my mom do my taxes (it is one of the things she does for a living).

Haha nope. Here you only get in 'trouble' (i.e. assessed a $ late penalty) if you owe money - but never if you get a return. I usually get returns, myself.

Anyway, when that's done I can then get 2012 taxes also done, and hopefully fix my computer woes. :D

Canada! Is this different in the US and elsewhere? Of course, my country is lenient when it comes to lots of things...

It is my understanding the US is not so lenient. Sometimes I wish it was easier to move to another country. I have some Canadian friends who always talk about stuff that make me jealous. :

In the US you only owe penalty if you owe tax (after credits and payments) as well.

But, file your taxes on time regardless, kids.

Trust me, because I so often get refunds (and we also get tax credit throughout the year if we're low-income and as long as we've filed) I'm more than happy to do my returns sooner. I just got a little disorganized after moving twice in two years. D:
