That's like saying The Penguin is the least villainous bad guy in Gotham. It may be true but he's still a bad guy.

And you know what? I agree with you. I think Charlie has the IQ of a seven year old. He's not really sure what he's doing half the time. (Most likely due from paint huffing.)

He does know what he's doing a lot of the time, and he's shrewd enough to orchestrate multi-part schemes. So, while he may be brain damaged from glue and paint huffing and ill-educated, he's not really stupid.

...but OP never said that the other characters weren't also horrible? being the least terrible (which I guess could be debatable but I haven't seen enough episodes to judge) doesn't mean he isn't still terrrible

Ehhhh. Remember that episode where Charlie pretended to date that rich girl, and then he breaks up with her horribly in front of all her friends and family, so he could go back to helping the waitress? (Because he just was using her to make TW jealous?) I'd say he's pretty equally horrible.

When he got that kid drunk, because he was hard to deal with. Then there's the baby he stole from Mack and Dee, because he thought it was his half-brother, and then kept it under his coat. He also constantly stalks a woman, breaks into her apartment, breaks/messes with her things in her apartment, and harasses her, despite being told repeatedly that she doesn't want to be with him.

At first I was looking forward to the influx of people to the It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia fandom via Charlie Day in Pacific Rim. I guess I should've figured they'd woobiefy his character in It's Always Sunny and decide he's their "spirit animal" despite the fact that his character is a horrible person who you wouldn't want to even be around much less be. I pretend to be okay with the new fandom just being superficial fangirls just because I want any fandom for this show, even if that fandom is irritating and has no sense of the character they proclaim to love.
