Re: would you judge a man for using a prostitute?
(Anonymous) 2013-08-10 08:41 pm (UTC)(link)I would judge a person for participating in an exploitative sex industry, having sex with someone who might not be there of their own free will or getting their fair share of the money.

Re: would you judge a man for using a prostitute?
(Anonymous) 2013-08-10 09:12 pm (UTC)(link)And I would judge women/others the same, depending entirely on the circumstances of the prostitute being hired.
Re: would you judge a man for using a prostitute?
This attempt you've made to cover your ass is really why the first part of your comment is just feel-good-look-at-my-tolerance nonsense. Because a great deal of sex-work comes from a place of desperation, exploitation, coercion or any other number of factors that could mean the prostitute doesn't want to be there but is there by circumstance. And there's really no way to tell.
Re: would you judge a man for using a prostitute?
(Anonymous) 2013-08-11 02:15 am (UTC)(link)Simple solution: legalise prostitution, regulate the industry. And lol @ you implying that the above anon's answer is disingenuous because, as you say, "a great deal of sex-work comes from a place of desperation, exploitation, coercion or any other number of factors that could mean the prostitute doesn't want to be there but is there by circumstance." So, according to you, maintaining your moral standards is "nonsense" if they conflict with the exploitative practices of the majority of an industry that is notorious for the damage it causes to its most disadvantaged workers? I mean, thanks for puncturing that hole in the blow-hard balloon of left-wing wishy-washiness, that's really what society needs right now, a more liberal approach to the exploitation of other humans. Awesome.
(Also, there are ways to 'tell', for instance if the sex worker is self-employed, or is working in a registered brothel in an area where prostitution is legalised.)

(Anonymous) 2013-08-11 01:54 pm (UTC)(link)\\\\\\\\you punch her in the face and if a large black man carrying a silver topped cane doesn't break your leg, she's legal. If her pimp does break your leg then she's protected and its illegal.
