I don't read TW anymore, but there are a few of these in dean/cas fandom that drive me up the wall. I'm starting to just avoid anything over ~80k words because I feel like people are willing to overlook the most terrible OOC shit if it's long enough...

YES! I know it isn't true, but I feel like the only way to get recognized/recced in Dean/Cas fics is to write wildly, wildly OOC fics that make not a damn bit of sense. And since I don't have time to dig through mountains of fic, it's really depressing to find rec blog after rec blog that wants to feed me the same crap that, even when it is well written, certainly isn't written about the characters I want to read about. ARGH.
