Oh, that's a real shame. However, you did sign up, and the author could be a really lovely person, even if their fic is... uh, less lovely. The best thing to do is to honour your agreement and get it over with fairly quickly. And look on the bright side: it will probably drum up some extra interest in your art, even if the fic is underwhelming - I've found several artists' work through Big Bangs.
