Ooh I'm sorry. I can't imagine. I just finished two drawings (I was a pinch hitter too) for prompts that didn't particularly inspire me and I had some unexpected rl issues so I just sort of... procrastinated and procrastinated and then just made some stuff with MS Paint. It's always hard for me to tell if something is good enough to give to someone else if I'm not personally excited about it. Luckily (?) the fest got cancelled. I'm not particularly enthused about the art but it kind of sucks to put time into something and then not get to see what people think of it.

How many pieces are you going to have to do? Maybe you could skim it until a scene catches your interest. Like I said I know it sucks when you aren't personally excited about a project but it should be fine if you just sort of illustrate a scene? Does the premise at least excite you? You could maybe focus more on the idea than the actual writing? It's not like anyone should be able to tell.
