I'm the person the secret is about (OP has just linked me here) slightly bewildered right now for obvious reason so I'm going to respond with a few points (and OP you need to be reading this too, because holy fucking hell what were you thinking?!)

1) The OP is young

2) This is their first fandom, so they're still learning how fun things like fandom politics and social heirachies actually work. You know, basic lessons like when not to poke the hornet's nest, learning to walk away 101, and fandom factions they do exist and why picking on one person will invariably result in a shitload of their friends coming down on you and causing way much more wank and bullshit than if you'd just chosen to set phasers on ignore.

3) The OP has a tendency to white knight at the drop of a hat, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, except when they take it to the frothing at the mouth, I'll make a fake secret and prove that call outs work, raaaahhh I haven't thought this through at all' stage. As batshit as this is, part of me is kind of finding it sweet that the OP went to this much trouble just to try and prove a point, but the bigger part of me is still going 'Aww fuck no!' so yes we are currently having a polite discussion.

4) I'm not a BNF, the OP is mixing up the term BNF with 'person who runs a few sites and has some friends in the fandom' (see above, 'new to fandom')

5) I don't know what the OP means about me calling people out, who am I supposed to be calling out exactly, a bunch of anonymous sock puppets? What does that achieve exactly? Nobody knows who they really are, including me. The one time someone in the fandom came at me directly, I did call them out in public, before deleting the comments and taking the discussion to private messages so the rest of the fandom didn't have to sit through a ten page back and forth.

6) My policy with dealing with fandom downers has always been delete and ignore, then vent in private with close friends. I don't 'name, names', because honestly I think it just has the potential to cause more bullshit drama than I have the energy to deal with. Last thing I want is to find myself stuck in the middle of a flamewar going 'Why the hell did I start this shit in the first place'.

7) I'm not completely mindless to the fact that I do have friends who would back me up if a situation were to arise, so making this secret to prove that even strangers on the internet would have my back is kind of a moot point (and weird, very, very weird). I know I have friends, I know those friends would have my back in a fight, and vice versa. I also know the person I'm fighting with would have friends as well, and there friends would come in to defend them, and then see above, aforementioned 'flame war'.

I don't buy it. Seeing as all this is anonymous there'd be no reason for you to give this much justification to us, we have no idea who you and "OP" are, or fandom(s) you hang out in.

Quite apart from which, you don't actually sound all that nice here, especially in the condescening way you're talking about the OP. If this was real, they were obviously misguided, but you sound pretty patronising
